Can I just say, I am completely in love with London! I mean what’s not to love? The lushness of her green parks, the richness of her culture, the elegance of her architecture or the heavenly taste of her food! Also the birth country of Queen Nigella! (I might or might not have a little crush on Nigella Lawson).
I had the privilege of visiting London in October of 2015. Ever since then, not a day has gone by without me missing or thinking about London. I’ve never been to a first world country before and let me just say, I was so impressed by how everything just works. I would give anything to live in a place with a public transport system like the Tube.
Without further ado, here’s how I spent my time in London…
I went to Borough Market as well as Portobello Road Market – Food for days!!!! I was so sad that I couldn’t taste every single thing!
One of my favorite attractions was the trip to Windsor Castle. It was a perfect, rainy London day. We walked around the little town and it was magical!
- London Eye
- Sky Garden
- Madam Tussauds
- Great Fire of London Monument
- St Paul’s Cathedral
- Diana’s Memorial
- Change of the Guards at Buckingham Palace
- Big Ben
- Tower of London
and finally, my least favorite attraction, shopping in Oxford street. I have nothing against Oxford street other than the fact that I hate shopping!
Parks and other walks:
I love the walking culture in London! While on holiday, I did not even pick up 1 kg. We walked between 10 and 20 kilometers every single day! October is a really good time to walk in the parks in London if you love Autumn, which happens to be my favorite season. We walked around Hyde Park, St James Park, Kensington Gardens as well as the South Bank.
Other areas we explored: Nottinghill, Covent Garden, Clapham, and Soho.
Fun on the Tube:
Why yes, we are those dorks who take pictures on the tube 🙂 but not with selfie sticks!
There you have it! All images are my own (which would explain why they look the way they do as I am not a professional photographer but feel I have an eye for a good shot – feel free to disagree)
Thank you for reading about my trip. If you want to read more about what/where to eat in London read this post: What to Eat in London
